More than 2,500 advisers have obtained the National Social Security adviser certificate since 2013, according to partner Premier Jim Blaira 35-year veteran of the Social Security Administration.

“Since Social Security is increasingly complex when dealing with single people, surviving spouses, divorced people, married couples, and married couples with large age differences – among many other scenarios – The NSSA program gives advisors timely training so they can help clients optimize claim decisions,” Blair explained.

“Advisors are getting more questions than ever, on everything from cost of living adjustments to pension issues, spousal benefits, and they need to be able to help clients calculate and successfully manage all of these situational factors. The best decision on when and how to claim comes down to those unique situations each person has, which we call Situational Social Security. With the estimated 73 million baby boomers in the country, this is more important than ever,” Blair added.
