FinanceMalta hits the road again to promote the island’s financial services
FinanceMalta has been very active in recent months in promoting Malta as an international center for financial services through its participation in a series of events in Europe and the Middle East.
Following the easing of pandemic-related restrictions, FinanceMalta restarted its international engagements through 12 major events between March and June 2022.
In the coming weeks, FinanceMalta will participate in two major events, namely Money 20/20 Europe and Global ABS.
Money 20/20 Europe, one of the most important Fintech conferences, will take place over three days in Amsterdam from June 7 to 9. It promotes innovation in payments and financial services for connected commerce. During the event, FinanceMalta will showcase Malta as the ideal jurisdiction for Fintech operators, including payment service providers.
The Global ABS conference in Barcelona will start on June 14th. The conference informs and engages the European securitization industry and facilitates one-on-one meetings with investors and issuers, while serving as a major catalyst in structuring product deal flows in Europe. FinanceMalta will be joined by the Malta Stock Exchange in this event.
Last Wednesday, FinanceMalta participated in EMex Europe in Zurich, which connects allocators, emerging managers and operational expertise. The foundation and its members will end an intense month of June with three conferences in London, namely the Family Office Forum organized by Prestel & Partner; Spears 500; and the “Opportunities in Institutionalizing the Digital Frontier” event hosted by leading media platform Hedgeweek.
The London events will close the first semester of 2022, which also saw the foundation participate in a seminar in Prague on “The Maltese jurisdiction of funds: a solid history, a bright future”. FinanceMalta has been invited to open the event, organized by four leading Maltese companies who have joined forces to promote Malta as a fund management jurisdiction.
FinanceMalta was also present, along with Malta Enterprise, at the Innovate Finance Global Summit held in London on 4-5 April and City Week London 2022 edition held on 27-27 April, offering visibility to the jurisdiction and an opportunity for its members to network during the three-day event.
Wealth management was the focus of three initiatives launched in May, namely the CEE Wealth Summit in Vienna on 4-5 May; the Cross Border Planning event in Dubai on May 11; and the Transcontinental Trusts − Geneva conference from May 18 to 20.
A spokesperson for FinanceMalta said: “We are very pleased to once again be able to promote Malta abroad, which is the main aim of the foundation. We are also extremely pleased with the response from our members who have joined us at these events, which means our members appreciate the value of their FinanceMalta membership.

“This international activity, which covers all sectors of the industry, complements the work that is being done locally, where FinanceMalta has organized several sector events to provide the industry with an additional opportunity to come together and discuss the current state financial services in Malta.”
